If there is anything synonymous with babies...other than diapers, bottles, breastfeeding, crying, spit-up, burp cloths, pacifiers...oy...okay, apparently now that I think of it, there's a lot that's synonymous with babies. But most of those are just necessary territory in all things baby...but for the softer side of life with baby, there's the blanket. I received dozens of blankets...and I mean dozens in the sense of OH MY GOSH what on Earth will we do with all these blankets...from friends and family, but only ended up using a very few. The ones that had qualities that distinctly represented me as a person and as a mother. When I held them to my face to touch the soft fabric, it put me in a place that reminded me of what I envisioned life with a baby was like.
That's the way a blanket should be. It should be something that you love and something you hope to keep for years. Something you will pass on to your children when they grow up.
